Changes Ahead for SNAP-Ed Programming in Lincoln County

Due to recent federal budget reductions, the SNAP-Ed nutrition education funding supporting Healthy Lincoln County will end on September 30, 2025. We appreciate the partnerships and impact achieved through this support.

This change will impact all school-based and community nutrition education services currently offered by our SNAP educator. For years, SNAP-Ed has helped us bring cooking classes, nutrition education, and wellness resources to schools, farmers markets, and community events across Lincoln County. We know this program has made a meaningful difference in the lives of many, and we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to have served our community in this way.

Although SNAP-Ed programming is ending, all other Healthy Lincoln County work in substance use prevention and food security will continue and is currently unaffected by this funding change.

Our commitment to improving community health through nutrition education remains unwavering. We are actively working to reimagine what this work could look like in the future, and we’re exploring new ways to continue supporting the health and well-being of our neighbors.

As we prepare for this transition, we are collecting stories from community members who have been part of this journey. If you’ve attended a class, hosted a current or former SNAP educator, or interacted with our SNAP-Ed team in any way, we’d love to hear from you. Share your story here: https://forms.office.com/r/y5D831YxVu. Your stories will help us honor the impact of SNAP-Ed and inspire what comes next.

Please take a moment to check out our FAQ for more details about this change and what it means for our community. Your continued support means so much as we move through this transition together.
